A survey of the Medevac community in infographics 

Ahead of the Medevac conference on October 25 – 26, 2017, the organisers, IQPC, asked the medevac community three questions; here, we present some Infographics summarising their answers.

The questions asked were:

• What is the current state of the market surrounding medevac?
• Where do the priorities lie for procurement? and
• What missions are going to be key in the future?

This image above shows that the medevac community is broad and its challenges do not only interest those concerned, such as industry (27%) and the military (22%), but also NGOs (5%). Governments (14%) and consultants (20%) form the last third of the respondents, while others (12%) include academia, travel and tourism and physicians

North America is the second biggest region to answer the survey (19%), followed by Eastern Europe (15%), Asia Pacific (10%), Africa (7%), South America (5%) and the Middle East (1%). Medevac is a sector in constant demand – natural disasters, migrant and war casualties, as well as terrorism – all challenge the preparedness of medevac teams and nations must have their capabilities ready for the next epidemic.

This year’s conference, Medevac 2017, will host its most senior speaker panel to date from across Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Attendees will be able to:

1. Increase their aeromedical evacuation capacity and deliver critical care to the casualties of humanitarian natural disasters;
2. Develop their organisations' response to future epidemics and pandemics through new biocontainment equipment and processes;
3. Equip their services' green aircraft with the latest available technologies;
4. Collect the information theu need to inform their acquisition staff to make better procurement decisions in a cost-constrained environment;
5. Improve their capability to respond to terrorism and mass casualties in an urban environment; and
6. Support their medical staff by acquiring the simulation and synthetic training kit needed to develop their skills and positions.
