CRJ announces new Advisory Panel Member 

The Crisis Response Journal is pleased to welcome a new member to its Advisory Panel. Beverley Griffiths is a Senior Lecturer in Emergency Planning at the UK’s University of Wolverhampton – a CRJ Key Network Partner.

Beverley is based at the Telford Innovation Campus where she leads the BSc Emergency and Disaster Management course. Engaged in the diverse work and vision of the Emergency Management and Resilience Centre, she provides an innovative and energetic approach to advancing the emergency management field.

She has extensive experience in health, emergency planning and managerial roles and she was awarded a Metropolitan Police commendation for her hard work and dedication during the Hackney siege in London in 2003. Beverley provides valued support to organisations, drawing on her experience in government, training, consultancy, resilience, health and safety, crowded places, as well as event management.

She has been integral to developing a range of British Standards, National Occupational Standards, and papers, qualifications and National Guidance. She is author of the current Staying Safe in the Modern World – a free, open online learning course designed to assist personal resilience. She also edited the publication National Guidance on Working in Safety Advisory Groups and she wrote chapters within the Crowded Places Guidance by NaCTSO.

She has a vision of advancing the emergency planning, incident management and wider resilience fields and she is always looking out for new ways to engage others in learning.
